PØRTAL S. is a free app for writing screenplays in real industry format — in the browser, on a computer and on a phone. It is a personal project by José P. Miguel, not a company.

Using it means accepting these terms. What happens to your data is in the Privacy Policy.

What you write here is yours and stays yours. I claim no rights over your work, use it for nothing, and show it to nobody: the server keeps it and hands it to you and to the people you invite, and that is all.

On a script written by several people, who owns what is between you — the app does not decide authorship. It is kept under the account of whoever started it, and that person is the one who can delete it.

You choose the username and the password. You can change it at any time from the home screen once you are signed in.

The password is stored only as a hash, so nobody can read it back — me included. There is no automatic reset either: an account here has no real email address for a link to be sent to.

If you forget it, write to portalsscript@gmail.com and I will set you a new one by hand. First I will ask you for the names of a few of the scripts in the account: only whoever uses it knows them, and I can see them on the server. It is not proof — I still have no way of being certain an account is really yours — so treat it for what it is: a favour between people, not a guarantee. Export your work regularly: it is the only copy that depends on nobody but you.

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, and do not attack it, overload it, or try to reach accounts that are not yours, or scripts not shared with you.

An account doing that can be suspended.

The service is provided as is, free of charge. I do not promise it will always be available or free of faults.

Keep copies of your work. The app exports to PDF, Fountain and Final Draft — use it, often.

I am not liable for lost data, lost profits or other indirect damage arising from use of the service, except where the law does not allow that liability to be excluded — for example, where there is intent or gross negligence on my part.

Nothing in these terms removes the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

The service may change or be discontinued. If that risks costing you work, I will say so here as far in advance as I can.

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too. Anything that matters is explained here rather than buried.

Portuguese law applies, and a dispute goes to the Portuguese courts — unless the law of the country you live in gives you, as a consumer, the right to another law or other courts.

O que escreves aqui é teu e continua teu. Não reclamo nenhum direito sobre o teu trabalho, não o uso para nada e não o mostro a ninguém: o servidor guarda-o e entrega-o a ti e a quem tu convidares, e é só isso.

Num guião escrito a várias mãos, o que é de quem fica entre vocês — a aplicação não decide autorias. Fica guardado na conta de quem o criou, e é essa pessoa que o pode apagar.

Escolhes o nome de utilizador e a palavra-passe. Podes mudá-la a qualquer momento no ecrã inicial, depois de entrares.

A palavra-passe fica guardada apenas como hash, por isso ninguém a consegue ler de volta — nem eu. Também não há reposição automática: uma conta aqui não tem email a sério para onde mandar um link.

Se te esqueceres dela, escreve para portalsscript@gmail.com e eu ponho-te uma nova à mão. Antes, peço-te os nomes de alguns dos guiões que tens na conta: só quem a usa os sabe, e vejo-os no servidor. Não é uma prova — continuo sem maneira de ter a certeza de que a conta é mesmo tua —, por isso trata isto pelo que é: um favor entre pessoas, não uma garantia. Exporta o teu trabalho com regularidade: é a única cópia que só depende de ti.

Não uses o serviço para nada ilegal, nem para o atacar, sobrecarregar, ou tentar chegar a contas que não são tuas, ou a guiões que não foram partilhados contigo.

Uma conta que faça isso pode ser suspensa.

O serviço é fornecido tal como está, gratuitamente. Não garanto que esteja sempre disponível nem que não tenha erros.

Faz cópias do teu trabalho. A aplicação exporta em PDF, Fountain e Final Draft — usa isso, com frequência.

Não respondo por perda de dados, lucros cessantes ou outros danos indiretos que resultem do uso do serviço, exceto quando a lei não deixa afastar essa responsabilidade — por exemplo, quando há dolo ou culpa grave da minha parte.

Nada nestes termos afasta os direitos que a lei te dá enquanto consumidor.

O serviço pode mudar ou ser descontinuado. Se for algo que te possa fazer perder trabalho, aviso aqui com a antecedência que conseguir.

Se estes termos mudarem, muda também a data no topo. Alterações que interessem ficam explicadas aqui, não enterradas.

Aplica-se a lei portuguesa, e um litígio vai para os tribunais portugueses — a menos que a lei do país onde vives te dê, enquanto consumidor, direito a outra lei ou a outros tribunais.
